(390) Bridging Campus and Online Pathways with Technology and Infrastructure

As the landscape of higher education continues to evolve, pharmacy programs face the imperative to adapt. Faculty can no longer rely on historical pedagogical standards and must evolve to meet the diverse needs of students in more interactive and engaging formats. The poster will share the innovative approach undertaken by our pharmacy program to create and deliver an online pharmacy pathway while continuing to deliver our traditional campus-based pathway. Embracing the potential of technology and robust infrastructure, our program has successfully integrated digital solutions to enhance the educational experience for students in both pathways, while streamlining the teaching process for faculty.

Through strategic planning and investment, faculty have been empowered to develop dynamic online content, including video and interactive modules tailored to engage remote learners effectively. Moreover, synchronous and asynchronous communication tools have facilitated seamless interaction between faculty and students, fostering a collaborative learning environment regardless of physical location.

These same tools and techniques developed for remote learners have also informed how faculty deliver high quality educational materials for the diverse learners in our campus-based program. By integrating technology into traditional classroom settings, such as interactive whiteboards, touchscreen monitors with stylus capability, digital polling systems, and interactive learning activities, faculty have enriched the learning experience for campus-based students. Furthermore, our investment in infrastructure has included faculty office enhancements to increase efficiency and adaptability when teaching in both pathways.

Through the synergistic integration of technology and infrastructure, our pharmacy program has not only expanded access but also elevated the quality and flexibility of learning experiences for students pursuing a Butler PharmD degree.
