Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Explain how various faculty and student-led pharmacy recruiting activities can be utilized to increase exposure to the profession.
  • Identify one new strategy to strengthen recruitment at your institution.
With the decrease in pharmacy school applicants and expansion of pharmacy programs, many institutions are struggling to recruit quality students. In this session, we describe the development of a recruitment task force led by pharmacy faculty and students. The implementation of various recruitment techniques and innovative engagement methodologies will be presented. Participants will explore how these recruiting initiatives could be implemented at their institution. Logistics, lessons learned, initial impacts and future initiatives will be discussed.
