Mid-Career Faculty At Low Battery? How Academic Leaders Can Help Them Recharge

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Describe the academic landscape and professional development opportunities in relation to mid-career faculty needs.
  • Summarize the programmatic structure and evaluation data from the inaugural AACP Mid-Career Recharge Program.
  • Adopt strategies to support mid-career faculty at your institution.
Academic leaders want to support mid-career faculty. It can be challenging to find resources for faculty at this level. The inaugural AACP Mid Faculty Career Recharge Program launched with 45 participants from a national applicant pool. This nine-month program offered an in-person conference, synergy groups, virtual meetings, and coaching support. During this session, program evaluation data will be summarized. A panel of coaches will share strategies to help support mid-career faculty.
