Aligned with Title IX? Empowering Experiential Students to Know Their Rights

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Discuss student comprehension and awareness of Title IX policies during experiential rotations
  • Apply principles of Empowerment Theory to identify interventions to improve Title IX awareness of students preparing to conduct experiential rotations
Sexual harassment and violence can have devastating consequences on a learner's well-being and ability to succeed. Do students understand their rights under Title IX when they complete experiential coursework? The purpose of this session is a call to action to ensure students are prepared. Participants will be led in applying the Empowerment Theory perspective to develop strategies aimed at improving student awareness, fostering support and addressing potential issues within their respective universities.
