Turning Pharmacy Career Regret into Career Opportunities

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Define career regret and how it negatively impacts wellbeing
  • Examine factors that may have contributed to the growth of career regret among pharmacy students and identify potential solutions that can be taken at the individual, institutional, and Academy level
  • Construct a plan to address pharmacy student career regret at one’s institution
The AACP Graduating Student Survey revealed that 20% of students since 2018 indicate they would not pursue a pharmacy degree if they had to do it over again. This is nearly a 50% increase from 2012-2017 and is more than double the rate reported by graduating medical students. During this world cafe session, participants will explore potential contributors and solutions, as well as generate a list of actionable strategies to address career regret.
