Tuesday, July 23, 2024
11:45 AM - 12:15 PM East Coast USA Time
Location: Hynes 207
Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
Summarize the current landscape of co-curricular programming, including specific examples of co-curricular program structures and co-curricular activities.
Develop an assessment plan of one’s own co-curricular program that includes an evaluation of facilitators and barriers to success and identify opportunities to address curricular overload.
Much of the conversation around curricular overload has been focused on the didactic curriculum, but solutions to address curricular overload also exist outside the classroom. This session will describe how quality improvement of a co-curricular program resulted in an opportunity to streamline requirements. Results of the quantitative analysis of student-reported activities, value rankings, benefits and challenges that prompted co-curricular program changes will be summarized.
