Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Explain how AI tools are currently being used in pharmacy education and pharmacy practice
  • Describe strategies for exposing students to AI concepts with a focus on their applications in drug information courses
Artificial intelligence and its role in healthcare and education is changing rapidly. By incorporating artificial intelligence concepts into foundational drug information coursework, we sought to bridge the gap between traditional drug information courses and the evolving landscape of healthcare, preparing future pharmacists for the digital age. This session will describe one institution’s implementation of AI-concepts in drug information-based courses along with examples of activities and cases presented. Session is appropriate for faculty at all levels.
