I Choose Pharmacy Because? Reaching and Welcoming New Audiences to the Pharmacy Profession

This 60-minute session will engage attendees in an active discussion about innovative ideas for student recruitment that can be implemented by colleges and schools of pharmacy to enrich their applicant pool. During the initial 30 minutes, participants will learn about the findings, recommendations and suggestions of the Student Affairs Committee. Participants will engage in a self-directed gap analysis exercise for 10 minutes through activities to identify student recruitment interventions at their institution, recognize barriers to reaching target enrollment and devise 2-4 strategies they think would benefit student recruitment practices. Next, participants will discuss their ideas for 10 minutes at their table followed by a debrief of experiences from tables, closing questions and summation for the last 10 minutes.
