Sister Michaela Serpa, FSE, MA, PharmD, BCPS is an assistant professor of clinical practice at Idaho State University, Pocatello, ID, with a clinical practice in cardiology at the Idaho Heart Institute, Idaho Falls, ID. She is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist, a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) where she serves on the Ethics in Pharmacy SIG. Sister Michaela received her B.A. Psychology from Carroll College, Helena, MT, an Master's degree in Theology with emphasis in Bioethics from Holy Apostles College and Seminary, Cromwell, CT, in conjunction with a certificate in medical ethics from the National Catholic Bioethics Center (NCBC), and her PharmD from Idaho State University. Sister Michaela served on the adult ethics committee at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven, CT for 12 years prior to a transition to academic work at High Point University (High Point, NC) and then to Idaho State University. She has presented on ethical topics at numerous national medical ethics conferences and several universities.
