Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmaceutics

Cary Mobley, Ph.D. is a former retail pharmacist who is currently a Clinical Associate Professor in the Pharmaceutics Department at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. He teaches in multiple subject areas including pharmaceutics, compounding, calculations, self-care, dermatological therapeutics, and interprofessional care. He has a passion for helping students develop their skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and reasoning, and to helping students integrate basic sciences with clinical practice. To these ends he has developed courses in integrated case studies and is co-responsible for helping students develop their problem-solving abilities, including their clinical problem-solving abilities as embodied in the Pharmacists’ Patient Care Process. He has co-authored a chapter on clinical reasoning in pharmacy and is a co-editor of a textbook on applied pharmaceutics and a soon-to-be published textbook on critical thinking and clinical reasoning in pharmacy. He has spoken locally and nationally on student motivation, problem solving and clinical reasoning in pharmacy education, and on the roles of the basic sciences in pharmacy education.
