Nicole Cartwright Kwiek, Ph.D. is Clinical Professor and Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. As Associate Dean, Dr. Kwiek leads all aspects of the undergraduate student experience at the college, heading a robust team overseeing curriculum, instructional planning and staffing, co-curricular experiences, student advising, success programming, and recruiting initiatives. Her research and community engagement activities focus on creating best-practice educational experiences for audiences of all ages. She co-founded and led Generation Rx for 15 years, a national educational initiative aimed at promoting awareness of safe medication-taking practices and the dangers of prescription drug misuse. She created and launched the Generation Rx Laboratory, an educational research laboratory at the Center for Science and Industry (COSI) science museum in Columbus, Ohio. She also created the Pills, Potions, and Poisons pipeline program for high school students. Dr. Kwiek graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University with a degree in Biochemistry, earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from Duke University, and trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the Duke Center for Science Education. She is a multiple recipient of the College’s Bachelor of Science in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Distinguished Teaching Award and an inductee of the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics Academy of Pharmacology Educators.
