Chanel F. Whittaker, PharmD, BCGP, FASCP is a professor of practice, sciences, and health outcomes research with the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Dr. Whittaker is board-certified geriatric pharmacist and an American Geriatrics Society Tideswell Scholar with over 20 years of clinical experience on team based ambulatory care clinics providing services to older adults with multiple chronic conditions. She currently serves as director of education and training and PGY-2 Geriatric Pharmacy Residency Program with the Peter Lamy Center on Drug Therapy and Aging. Dr. Whittaker finished a fellowship in Ethnogeriatrics at the Stanford Geriatric Education Center in 2013. This experience has influenced her work and research, focusing on improving medication literacy among older adults and promoting health equity in aging. She currently holds the position of the School of Pharmacy's first Assistant Dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. In 2023, she established the Office for Equity, Diversity & Inclusive Excellence and currently Co-Chairs the School of Pharmacy's Inclusive Excellence Council.
