Maryann Skrabal, Pharm.D., CDCES, currently serves as Director of Experiential Education and a Professor & Vice Chair of Pharmacy Practice at Creighton University. She has spent 21 years in experiential education (EE). She completed her Pharm.D. and Residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1994/1995 and then began her career at Creighton on ambulatory care and transitioned into EE in 2002.
Regarding national service, Dr. Skrabal served as Chair of the AACP Experiential Education Section (EES) Preceptor Development Task Force in 2022-2023.
She completed a 3-year leadership commitment to the AACP EES as Chair-Elect, Chair, and Immediate Past Chair. During her term she focused on creating a new strategic plan and process to give the EES direction for future years. She served on the AACP Programming Committee for the 2021 and 2022 Pharmacy Education Meetings, Chair of the EES/SUD Collaborative Task Force examining student perspectives regarding Opioid Use, member of the EES Task Force to Determine Best Practices for Assessment/Grading, Chair of the COS Standardizing Standing Rules & Procedures Task Force, on the COS Task Force on Sections, Sigs, and Communities, and on the COS New Investigator Award (NIA) Committee. She has served as Chair of the EES Nominating Committee in 2019-2020, Chair of the EES Webpage Task Force, Chair of the COS Marijuana Use Task Force in 2015-2016, and Co-Chair of the COS Preceptor Development Task Force from 2011-2014. She has served on numerous national committees and task forces and presented nationally and internationally throughout the years.
