Director of Experiential Education and Associate Professor

Katelyn M. Alexander, PharmD, is Director of Experiential Education and Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy. She received her PharmD from The Ohio State University and completed a PGY1 community-based pharmacy residency at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy. She joined the faculty in August 2012. Dr. Alexander’s teaching focuses on nonprescription medicines and she serves as a facilitator in the interprofessional education curriculum. She also precepts students on elective academia rotations during their final year. Dr. Alexander has sustained service within the college and university, particularly in areas of curricular oversight and assessment, and is engaged at the state and nation levels, particularly within APhA, AACP, and TPA. From 2017-2020, Dr. Alexander served as the program director of ETSU’s PGY1 community-based residency program. She enjoys interacting with students and preceptors, and managing highly detailed, complex projects.
