Visiting Assistant Professor and Clinical Pharmacist

Loulwa Maktabi, PharmD, BCPS, is a Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. After transfering from the University of Aleppo in Syria, she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Toledo and completed an Acute Care Pharmacy Practice residency with Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, OH and The University of Findlay College of Pharmacy. Dr. Maktabi always had a keen interest in teaching and returned to the University of Toledo in 2022 as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Among many other roles in the college, she coordinates and teaches in the inpatient skills lab and delivers lectures in therapeutics, namely psychiatric disorders and pain and substance use disorders. She serves on the Admissions and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) committees and as a student organization advisor. She is a preceptor and board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist and practices as the Clinical Pharmacist for the inpatient Family Medicine service at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
