Burgunda (Gundy) Sweet, PharmD, FASHP, is Assistant Dean for Curriculum and Assessment, and clinical professor at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. She earned her PharmD degree at the University of the Pacific College of Pharmacy, and completed two years of post-graduate training in clinical pharmacy practice. Prior to assuming responsibility for curriculum and assessment, she served as the director of the drug information and investigational drug services at Michigan Medicine. Dr. Sweet is responsible for ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and providing continuous review of the pharmacy curriculum and student outcomes. She serves on the executive committee for the U-M Center for Interprofessional Education (IPE) and is co-chair of the IPE Curriculum Committee. She teaches courses related to interpreting and applying clinical data in practice, and collaborates with others to integrate IPE offerings within the PharmD program. In addition to her academic role, Dr. Sweet continues to practice as a clinical specialist in the field of medication use policy. She has authored numerous articles and book sections in her areas of specialty.
