Dr. Lisa Cillessen is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency in Ambulatory Care with an emphasis in teaching at Northeastern University and Harbor Health in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Cillessen practices as an ambulatory care pharmacist at Jordan Valley Community Health Center, providing chronic disease management services to the uninsured and underinsured and is the Residency Program Director for the shared UMKC/ Jordan Valley PGY2 program in ambulatory care with an emphasis in academia. Dr. Cillessen is the chair of UMKC’s Curriculum Committee, focused on curricular alignment, integration, and assessment. Her research interests include public and global health, chronic disease management in the underserved, and medication safety.
