Teresa Cavanaugh, PharmD, MS, BCPS, FASHP is the associate dean for student affairs at the University of Florida (UF) College of Pharmacy. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2006 and completed her PGY-1 residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center (UCMC) in 2007 followed by a 2-year fellowship in health outcomes at the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy. She has been a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist since 2008. She became an clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice in 2009 at the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy. There her teaching focused on pharmacoeconomics, case studies and transplantation. Her clinical practice was at UCMC where she worked with an interprofessional team in an ambulatory setting caring for patients with liver transplants. She was promoted to clinical associate professor in 2017 and assumed administrative duties as the introductory pharmacy practice exeriences director. In 2018, Dr. Cavanaugh joined the faculty and administration at the UF college of pharmacy where she has realized her passion of supporting and mentoring students. Dr. Cavanaugh's service has focused in health-system pharmacy. She has served on the Section Advisory Group on Preceptor Development, the Commission on Affiliate Relations and the New Practitioners Executive Forum Committee for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, among other positions. She held several positions within the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists, including President and Director of the Division of Organizational Affairs. She remains active in ASHP, AACP and FSHP.
