Dr. Stoner began his academic career with the UMKC School of Pharmacy in 1996 following the completion of a psychiatric pharmacy residency and fellowship at Western Missouri Mental Health Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Stoner served as a clinical faculty member from 1996 to 2008 practicing at the Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center where he continues to serve as a consultant. Dr. Stoner served as the Pharmacy Practice and Administration Department Chair from 2008-2020 and has served in his current role as the Associate Dean for Student Affairs since 2020. Dr. Stoner has published in the areas of mental health and pharmacy education. Additionally, Dr. Stoner has served in numerous capacities with the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (Past-President) and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (Chair of both the Pharmacy Practice Section and the Council of Sections and served on the Board-of-Directors).
