Dr. Lepp is a professional educator with leadership experience in business and health care organizations. His primary interest is in creating lasting, meaningful educational experiences, and helping others learn through critical, creative interactions.
The first 10 years of Dr. Lepp’s career was as communications manager at organizations including Best Buy Inc, and Target Corp, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The work centered on communication and training, which led him to pursue his doctorate to further understand the teaching/learning process.
Dr. Lepp was hired by the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy in 2012 to work toward helping administration, faculty and students identify and implement evidence-based instruction. The educational perspective he provided was instrumental in helping faculty apply a variety of active learning treatments to formerly traditional, lecture-based courses. Also, with his background in management and communication, and knowledge of education, Dr. Lepp has been asked to speak extensively to local professional groups on managing conflict, team development, inter-generational learning, and other topics. In 2015, Dr. Lepp was named course director over the entire Professional Development course sequence in the PharmD curriculum, teaching leadership, communication, career development, professional identity formation, and more. His publications and presentations focus on the teaching/learning process.
