Motolani E. Adedipe (nee Ogunsanya), DPh, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy, Clinical and Administrative Sciences and TSET Health Promotion Research Center at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. With clinical (DPh) and graduate (Ph.D.) training in pharmacy, she earned her MSc and Ph.D. degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin in 2014 and 2017, respectively.
Dr. Adedipe's teaching philosophy is grounded in fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers students to critically engage with diverse perspectives and develop practical skills applicable to real-world healthcare challenges. Her pedagogy emphasizes active learning, collaborative problem-solving, and integrating evidence-based practices to cultivate lifelong learners equipped to address the evolving needs of underserved communities.
Through her research, Dr. Adedipe aims to become an independent pharmacist researcher and leader who conducts community-engaged, mixed methods, and population-based cohort studies focusing on examining and building interventions around quality of life (QoL) issues relevant to underserved communities. Her research interests primarily involve understanding health behaviors among underserved minority groups and the use of patient-reported outcomes to capture disease burden in patients with rare diseases, cancer, and other disease conditions. Additional research interests include psychometrics (instrument development and validation) and examining QoL through theoretical frameworks and large-scale retrospective database analyses. She is currently testing the efficacy of a mHealth platform she built for Black prostate cancer survivors to improve their QoL and exploring socioeconomic influences on cutaneous lupus erythematosus diagnosis and outcomes.
