Dr. Jamila J Jorden, Pharm.D., MBA - the Director of Experiential Programs at the Howard University College of Pharmacy grew up in southern New Jersey and received her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Howard University’s School of Pharmacy in 2003 and her Master of Business Administration from Drexel University in 2013. After graduation from pharmacy school, Dr. Jorden completed a general practice PGY-1 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. During her career, Dr. Jorden developed a passion for working with pharmacy students and pharmacist just starting off in their careers. Dr. Jorden decided to return to her alma mater as an Assistant Professor and the Assistant Director of Experiential Programs at Howard University College of Pharmacy. Since then, Dr. Jorden expanded her role at Howard University to become the Director of Experiential Program for the College of Pharmacy. In her role, she is responsible for the practical experience component of the pharmacy curriculum. In addition to her work with the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Jorden is also a member of the Washington DC Pharmacy Association, the Washington Metropolitan Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (as a past Board Member), the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (recently served as a member of the Legislative and Regulatory Action Committee), the American Pharmacists Association, the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, and various civic organizations. Recently, Dr. Jorden was elected as the chair elect for the Experiential Education section of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).
