Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Identify teaching pedagogies that can be incorporated into a pharmacy calculations course.
  • Describe technologies that can be used to engage students and enhance student learning.
The emphasis on pharmaceutical calculations on the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) Blueprint has caused many programs to reevaluate how pharmaceutical calculations are taught. In addition to the emphasis on the NAPLEX, calculations are an area that many students struggle in. This presentation will share the innovative teaching methods and technologies used in an integrated pharmaceutical calculations course to improve students’ performance in, and retention of, pharmacy calculations.
