Assistant Clinical Professor, Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences Coordinator

Lena McDowell, PharmD, is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy (HCOP). She serves as the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) Coordinator, overseeing the College’s five IPPEs: community, health-system, clinical, health and wellness, and population health. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Auburn University HCOP. She completed a PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. She joined the HCOP faculty in August of 2017. Her clinical practice site is located at the Auburn University Employee Pharmacy (AUEP). She oversees the AUEP's clinical services and precepts students for their Clinical IPPE and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience rotations. Her primary areas of research and scholarship are focused on experiential education and community pharmacy practice transformation. She is actively involved in state, regional, and national pharmacy organizations.
