Laura Armstrong is an Assessment Analyst for the USCF School of Pharmacy with an M.S. in chemistry and a Ph.D. in Science Education. Her research and evaluation projects have focused on both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis across a variety of higher education populations (students, faculty, staff) and contexts (green chemistry, pharmacy education, anti-racism education). She currently works with the School of Pharmacy faculty and staff on many assessment and evaluation activities to better understand and inform student learning and teaching. This includes aligning and analyzing student performance and curricular data, developing and refining assessment rubrics and scales, exploring relationships between student performance variables, and creating and customizing data visualizations and reports with the goal of collaboratively contextualizing information for evidence-based decisions that support the School of Pharmacy’s mission. Her current interests include making research and evaluation data accessible and useful (with a focus on effective data visualization) within the context of healthcare education.
