Dr. Kennedy currently serves as the Chair of Pharmaceutical and Administrative Sciences in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Western New England University. He has been active within the COF and AACP for many years, holding a variety of leadership roles. Within the COF, he chaired the Faculty Affairs Committee in 2017-18 and has served as a member of the Department Chair Webinar Committee (2019-20), Teachers Seminar Planning Committee (2018-19), Nominations Committee (2015-16) and Faculty Affairs Committee (2014-15). He was also awarded the COF’s Emerging Teaching Scholar Award in 2018. Beyond the COF, he has chaired the Bylaws Policy and Development Committee Biological Sciences Section. He was also previously a member of the AJPE editorial board, an ALFP fellow and has been a member of numerous other institutional, council, and section level committees.
Outside of AACP, Dr. Kennedy has taught in 13 distinct courses within the pharmacy curriculum, including pathophysiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, pharmacogenomics, and integrated therapeutics modules. He maintains an active research laboratory exploring the role of thiol isomerases in cancer and hemostasis, which is funded by the NCI and has received additional funding as a principle investigator from industrial and academic sources. He has published over 25 manuscripts, been awarded 5 patents and mentored over 50 PharmD students in scholarly projects. Many of these students have attended the AACP meeting with him to present their research and he was instrumental in initiating the Trainee Poster competition, chairing the committee which started the program in 2018 and 2019.
