(416) Formation of a committee to enhance overall well-being at a College of Pharmacy

Objective: To describe various well-being initiatives developed at the University of Findlay.

Methods: A well-being committee was formed at the University of Findlay to develop initiatives that could support the well-being of the faculty and staff at the institution. One faculty member originally proposed and led well-being events that were designed to help support well-being in the College of Pharmacy. Initial success led to the formation of a formal well-being committee that included faculty, staff, and administration.

Results: Some of the projects that have taken place include faculty/staff meals and happy hours, faculty/staff appreciation mugs, a back-to-school bash, recognition awards for individuals external to the College of Pharmacy, faculty spotlights, lunches in the lounge, escape room, freedom from email days, and the development of a faculty/staff lounge. These initiatives have been mostly well received from faculty and staff, however, some limitations exist based on scheduling conflicts and preferences of a variety of individuals.

Conclusion: The formation of a well-being committee has been well received by faculty and has anecdotally led to an enhanced atmosphere of collaboration at the University of Findlay. Additionally, the committee was renewed by the faculty body for an additional ad hoc term.
