Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Analyze the key elements of project-based learning and layered mentoring and their alignment with curricular outcomes and entrustable professional activities.
  • Examine opportunities to integrate this learning model in required curricular and co-curricular experiences.
This session describes a novel approach to achieving COEPA through a required curricular experience designed using project-based learning and a layered mentorship framework. Third-year student pharmacists complete a longitudinal, real-world project in teams to solve population health challenges presented by community organizations. Participants will learn about the key elements involved in developing this program and explore the feasibility of integrating this learning model in their curriculum. This session is relevant to introductory and advanced learners.
