Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Recognize the limitations of most PharmD curricula with respect to biologic therapeutics coverage.
  • Describe the pharmacists' role in addressing the needs of patients/providers related to biologic therapeutics
  • Implement curricular revisions by incorporating biologic therapeutics topics using innovative teaching methods
The session will highlight the growing role of biologics-based therapeutics in patient care, including the use of vaccines, monoclonals, proteins and peptides. The Pharm.D. curriculum must adapt to meet patient/provider needs and to reflect the expanding number of biologics in the Top 200 drug list. The speakers will share innovative ways to include biologics-based topics in the Pharm.D. curriculum based on learning activities used at their institutions.
