  • Describe self-reported factors for pharmacy faculty attrition and retention
  • Recognize the impact of faculty attrition in the workplace
  • Generate two potential strategies to promote faculty retention and improve workplace morale at your institution
In a national survey of pharmacy faculty, 37.2% indicated thinking about leaving at least weekly and 21.5% intend to leave in the next year. According to AACP data, many faculty positions have remained vacant or lost possibly due to decreased student enrollment and budgets. This session will present the results from the national survey about the potential reasons for faculty attrition and motivating factors to stay. This will be followed by discussion amongst session participants on the causes of faculty attrition and potential solutions to retain faculty and improve workplace morale.
