Maria Marzella Mantione, BSPharm, PharmD, FAPhA is a Clinical Professor of community pharmacy practice at St. John’s University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Queens, New York. She practiced for over 20 years as a clinical pharmacist at the King Kullen Pharmacy and Wellness Place. She is an extended member of the NYS Board of Pharmacy and served as Chairperson of the Board in 2016. Dr. Mantione is an active member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). She is a Fellow of APhA. She serves on the NABP Advisory Committee on Examinations and has served as an item writer and reviewer for NAPLEX and NYS MPJE. Dr. Mantione serves on the Council of Faculties Faculty Affairs Committee and the Women Faculty SIG Programming Committee for AACP.
Dr. Mantione’s teaching and research experience focuses on patient education on prescription and nonprescription medication use, immunizations, pedagogy, and curricular design and assessment. She has extensive experience in medication therapy management and immunizations, as well as in the development and implementation of clinical services in the community pharmacy setting.
Dr. Mantione graduated from St. John’s University with a BS in Pharmacy in 1996 and a Doctor of Pharmacy in 1998. She completed a community pharmacy practice residency at the University of Maryland in 1999 and has been a member of the St. John’s University faculty ever since.
