Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Discuss the role of Grit in positively impacting student pharmacist academic success.
  • Recall Grit-development scenarios for either curricular or admissions process implementation at their own institution.
Grit is a qualitative trait defined as a passion for long-term goals and has been shown to positively impact student pharmacists’ academic performance. This session will focus on the innovative approaches implemented at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy to assess grit in the admissions process and implement it in the curriculum. Participants will learn how to best prepare the next generation of pharmacists through the power of grit and perseverance.
