Abbie Lyden, PharmD, BCPS, is the Director of Curriculum Advancement, Department of Healthcare Simulation Pharmacy Team Lead, and Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science. In the director role she spearheads efforts to design an innovative and optimized curriculum to meet the needs of the graduating pharmacist and pharmacy profession. She currently leads a team as they develop and implement a new RFU curriculum. Prior to her current role, she practiced for 15 years as an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist, most recently at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She served as the founding Residency Program Director for the PGY2 Emergency Medicine residency at Northwestern, where she was a clinical faculty member and active in the clinical education of students and residents. After graduating from Purdue University School of Pharmacy in 2006, she completed a residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. While at Brigham and Women's, she led the implementation of pharmacy services in the emergency department. While at Rosalind Franklin and in the Emergency Department, she has served on numerous hospital, university, department and national committees. Through research, Dr. Lyden has authored several peer-reviewed journal articles, reviews, and book chapters. Her research concentrations include simulation, curricular innovations, emergency medicine, medication safety and toxicology.
