Ashim Malhotra, B.S.Pharm., M.S., Ph.D., FAPE (he/him/his)

Ashim Malhotra, PhD, FAPE is Assistant Vice President and Head of Institutional Effectiveness and Accreditation for California Northstate University and reports to the university President.

As AVP, Ashim oversees and supports several key university portfolios including accreditation, assessment, promotions, policy, and the university Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. CNU is a comprehensive health professions university with colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dental Medicine, Psychology, Graduate Studies, and Health Professions.

Professor Malhotra is a site visit evaluator for regional (university-level) and professional education accreditation. Specifically, he serves WSCUC and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) for both US and international pharmacy program accreditation.

At the CNU College of Pharmacy, he is the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs and Accreditation. Dr. Malhotra serves as the founding Chair of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) committee of the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET, 2023). He is a member of ASPET’s Council (Board of Directors).

Ashim also served as the leader of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s (AACP) 16-member national delegation to Cuba in 2024. Malhotra is the national Chair of the AACP Global Pharmacy Education SIG (2024).

Dr. Malhotra is a recipient of national outstanding service awards from both the AACP Global Pharmacy Education SIG (2022) and the Biological Sciences Section (2023). In 2020, he was internationally elected as a Fellow of the ASPET Academy of Pharmacology Educators. He is the founding Senior Director of the Institute of Teaching and Learning Excellence and Director of Interprofessional Education.
