Dr. Mariette Sourial received her PharmD from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Albany, New York. She completed an ambulatory care PGY-1 residency through the University of Minnesota at one of their rural emphasis sites in 2010-2011. At her residency site, her main project focused on collaboration between pharmacists during transitions of care. In 2011, she joined the Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy as an assistant professor of pharmacy practice, where she teaches various topics in the pharmacotherapy series, coordinates Critical Pharmacy Knowledge V and VI as well as Case Studies in Pharmacotherapy III, and facilitates in multiple courses such as case studies in pharmacotherapy IV, as well as communication lab. She is the faculty co-advisor of the American Pharmacists Association and the Academy of Student Pharmacists, and is actively involved in national, state and local pharmacists associations. Her practice site is currently located at Wellington Primary Care Clinic where she precepts ambulatory/transitions of care APPE students. Her practice interests include leveraging pharmacists to facilitate effective care transitions in high-risk patients, as well as interprofessional collaboration to improve health outcomes of chronic conditions. She currently serves as the Director of Interprofessional Education within the School of Pharmacy and has partnered with various community leaders and institutions to support its initiatives since its inception.
