Walking the Walk: Putting Inclusive Language Into Action Across the Roles of Pharmacy Educators

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  • Discuss the importance of utilizing inclusive language across and within the many of the roles of a pharmacy educator.
  • Apply principles of inclusive language to pharmacy recruiting and retention efforts.
  • Propose specific methodologies to incorporate inclusive language within the didactic and experiential curriculum, as well as post graduate training.
In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to rotate through different facilitated discussion and activity-based stations that will put principles of inclusive language into action in the following settings: admissions, didactic teaching, experiential teaching and practice, and post-graduate training and professional development. By the end of the session participants will have created a repository of ideas and resources that will allow them to start using inclusive language in their teaching.
