Assistant Dean and Professor

Dr. Doreen Szollosi is the Assistant Dean for Pharmacy Academic Affairs and Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT. In August of 2023, she also assumed the role of Director of the Women’s Leadership Center. Dr. Szollosi joined USJ in 2010 and is a founding faculty of the Pharmacy program. Her expertise lies in the area of infectious disease (specifically emerging patterns of antibiotic resistance) and immunology, which she also teaches to pharmacy students. She is the author of the recently published book Antibiotic Discoveries and a Century of Creating Superbugs and a co-author of the textbook Pharmacology of Immunotherapeutic Drugs, designed specifically with pharmacy students in mind. Prior to joining USJ, she taught pre-health majors at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT and Dean College in Massachusetts.
Dr. Szollosi earned her B.S. degree in Animal Science in 2002 from the University of Rhode Island and her Ph.D. in Pathobiology from Brown University in 2007.
