Jordan R Covvey, PharmD, PhD, BCPS is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Administration at Duquesne University School of Pharmacy, Pittsburgh, PA. She earned her PharmD from the University of Kentucky, and then completed PGY1 residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. She subsequently was selected as a recipient of a Fulbright grant to complete a PhD at the University of Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences in Glasgow, Scotland. Dr Covvey's research interests center on quality improvement in medication prescribing, utilization, and associated health outcomes. Her work extends across several clinical areas, including internal and emergency medicine, mental health, substance use, infectious disease, and cardiology. Dr Covvey teaches in the PharmD program and across campus in interdisciplinary courses in the areas of healthcare systems, public health/epidemiology, drug literature evaluation, and global health. She serves as a preceptor for global health experiences abroad and research-oriented APPEs for PharmD students, as well as for academia/research rotations for pharmacy residents.
